Portland, Oregon - Day 3

On our last day in Portland, we decided to eat brunch at Jam on Hawthorn.  The thirty minute wait was worth it!  We had hash browns with vegetables and tofu on top and a chai pancake.  To say the least, the meal was wonderful!  Our last hours in Portland were filled with photo-booths and shop-browsing.  Our much needed getaway was both relaxing and exciting.  We can't wait to do it again!

Portland, Oregon - Day 2

We started our morning with some coffee from the Stumptown Coffee Roasters connected to our hotel. We hung in the Hawthorn District where we wondered around a Powell's Books location and ate fresh berries from a local farmer's market.  For lunch, we ate at Bridgeport Brewing Co. where we had beer and mac & cheese.  In an effort to work off our lunch, we went hiking at the Hoyt Arboretum where we educated ourselves on many types of trees and plants.  We even spotted a large owl!  For dinner, we stayed in and had a fresh baguette, cheese, and wine.

Portland, Oregon - Day 1

Before we left for our first day in Portland, we were sure to grab some coffee and scones from Macrina Bakery.  Once in Portland, we walked around the Saturday Market, admiring all the flowers and produce.  After eating huge tofu burritos from the KOi Fusion food truck we visited the Rothko exhibit at the Portland Art Museum.  While at the museum, stumbled upon a John Frame sculpture exhibit.  His detailed and delicate work will blow your mind.  Following that, we went for a hike on the Wildwood Trail, just west of downtown Portland.  After a long day out in the city, we checked into our room at the Ace Hotel, where we would be staying for the duration of our visit.  We decided to stay close by for dinner.  We ate some delicious food and drank some wonderful cocktails at the classy restaurant located on the first floor of the hotel: Clyde Common.
